Nearly there.....myself and a few other local artists have been down helping Anthony Breslin on his community art project at the Murrumbeena Uniting Church.
For most of the year, one day each week has been spent helping the local community groups create their own works of art, decorating benches and painting murals. Each of the artists were given two 'heads' upon which they could design and decorate as they wished. These 'heads' sit upon specially designed totem poles that turn in the wind. The project is almost complete.
It has been a fabulous experience:- big brushes and large tins of brightly colored paint; reworking of found objects that have been incorporated into the pieces; and working with some of the local groups that frequent the church, have been the highlights of the process.
Details for the opening on Sunday 25th October 2015 are above. All welcome.
